The health and safety of our visitors and employees remains our top priority, and we want your visit to the Grand Pier to be safe and stress-free. You will probably be used to many of the procedures we now have in place including; pre-booked tickets, enhanced cleaning, one-way systems, and social distancing but scroll down for everything you need to know before your visit...

Please note: unfortunately dogs, and riding bicycles, skates/skateboards or mini scooters are not allowed on the Pier for the safety of our other guests.

The Grand Pier has been awarded the VisitEngland ‘We’re Good to Go’ charter mark. This verifies that our attraction meets all COVID-19 Government and public health guidance, and that our health and safety processes are in place to ensure that our visitors and staff all have a safe and enjoyable time on our pier.

COVID 19: VISITOR INFORMATION - 8TH DECEMBER UPDATE

This policy has been updated in response to recent updated Government guidelines, and is designed to help our visitors decide whether or not to attend the Grand Pier during current Covid-19 protocols. (8th December 2021)

DURING YOUR VISIT WITH US - from Friday 10th December 2021

To keep others safe, we ask all Grand Pier visitors to:

  • wear face coverings on entry to, and when walking around, the pier (mandatory)
  • wash and sanitise hands regularly
  • respect the personal space and boundaries of others

Please DO NOT come to the Pier if you:

  • have recently tested positive for COVID-19 and/or
  • have been asked to self-isolate via the NHS Test and Trace app and/or
  • have symptoms of COVID-19

Live music and unseated event attendees - from Wednesday 15th December 2021

All attendees to live music and unseated events will need to show one of the following for entry:

  • Proof of a negative PCR/lateral flow test, taken no more than 48hrs before the event or
  • COVID-19 vaccine pass

Please present your negative test result (NHS text, email, or app), or COVID-19 vaccine pass (NHS app), to security on date of entry to an event.

Please be advised that doors will now open at 6pm for all attending unseated events In order for us to check Covid-19 passes/Lateral flow test results and event tickets. Please arrive as early as possible to accommodate for this.

HYGIENE AND DISINFECTION

Staff Training – All staff members have completed a COVID-19 training programme instructing them on how to stay safe at work and how to keep visitors safe.

Enhanced Cleaning – Enhanced cleaning takes place throughout the day, including disinfecting high-frequency touch points, such as turnstiles, ride restraints and seats, amusement buttons, lift buttons, tables and chairs, handles and taps.

Hygiene Stations – A large number of hygiene stations and hand sanitiser dispensers are readily available on the pier for all visitors and employees.

Staff PPE – Our staff have been provided with PPE suitable to the tasks they are carrying out, to protect them and our visitors. This includes face masks/shields, gloves and pocket hand sanitisers for all staff members and shall be worn at all times

Visitor Hygiene – As with our staff, we ask all visitors to uphold the highest possible hygiene standards – washing hands regularly, use of hand sanitiser and catching a cough or sneeze with a tissue or in your sleeve.

Deep Cleaning – We have introduced deep cleaning measures in the event that a visitor presents themselves with symptoms associated with COVID-19.

SIGNAGE

Visitors are asked to pay close attention to the signage and markers displaying key messages and instructions for Covid-19 protocols. Signage is in place at the entrance, along the boardwalk and inside the building and facilities.

Cashless Payment

Please be ready to pay for items with a contactless payment card whenever possible. Cash will be accepted, but card payment is strongly recommended. The following rides have contactless payment options: Ghost Train, Free Fall, Sidewinder, F1 Simulators, Go-Karts.

Opening Times

The pier opens daily at 10am, however rides and attractions now open from 11am each day. Closing time varies and is announced daily one hour before the pier is due to close. Dodgems and some ground floor amusements will be closed from 30th November - 24th December due to Christmas parties commencing in the Great Hall.

The Grand Pier had been assessed by the Visit England visitor and Attraction Quality Scheme and awarded the Visit England Quality Rose Marque.

Directions & Parking

By Car Exit M5 at junction 21, take the third exit towards Weston-super-Mare and follow signs to 'seafront' and Grand Pier (approximately three miles).

By Train A7 minute walk from the station, walk west towards the town and sea front, the Grand Pier is half a mile away.

By Coach Coaches are welcome to drop off passengers in the bus stop at the entrance to the Grand Pier. Coach parties are welcome to book in advance for reserved seating in our food outlets, just call 01934 646155. Coach parking is provided further south along the seafront or at Locking Road.

Robocoaster is currently closed for maintenance.

The Grand Pier is open 364 days a year - we only close Christmas day! Therefore essential maintenance and upgrades must be carried out whilst the Grand Pier is open. We also hold a range of events that may result in ride and early Pavilion closures. Please note that all closure and maintenance dates are subject to change.

Official closing times vary throughout the year depending on daylight hours, how busy the pier is and planned events. Final admission is 15 minutes before the Pier closes.
